About the Course
The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) is a two-year, full-time postgraduate course designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in computer science and its applications. The revised MCA Curriculum builds on the implementation of the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and Grading System. The curriculum covers a range of subjects including programming, data structures, algorithms, database management systems, computer networks, and software engineering. The program emphasizes both theoretical knowledge andpractical skills, preparing students for careers in the IT industry.
The Institute offers placement assistance to the students by interacting with Industries and software consultancies. With the rapidly changing scenario industry and academia have identified possible areas of collaboration and work together. Institute’s placement cell focuses on identifying industrial expectations & institutional preparation for meeting Corporate needs. In every semester, students are offered additional value added courses / certifications enabling them to be more employable and get into a sustainable career.

Eligibility
The current eligibility norms are :
(i) The candidate should be an Indian National;
(ii) Passed BCA or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree and obtained at least50% marks in aggregate (at least 45% in case of candidates of Backward Class categories, economically weakersection and Persons with Disability category belonging to Maharashtra State);
(iii) Obtained non zero positive score in MAH-MCA-CET 2022.To be eligible for the MH-MCA-CET 2025, candidates must be Indian nationals with a graduation degree in any field, preferably with Mathematics at the 10+2 or graduation level.
