About the Course BCA / BCA (Honours) / BCA (Honours with research)
The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program is a dynamic undergraduate course designed to equip students with a strong foundation in computer science and its practical applications in business and IT. The curriculum covers core programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and Python, along with hands-on training in database management, software engineering, and web development.
Blending technical expertise with business acumen, the course also integrates key commerce subjects like business mathematics, financial accounting, and management principles. This interdisciplinary approach prepares students to apply technology effectively in analyzing and managing business operations.
Through lab work, field projects, and internships, students gain practical exposure to real-world scenarios involving web applications, mobile app development, and digital marketing. The program also places a strong emphasis on problem-solving, communication skills, business ethics, and social awareness.
Students can explore their interests further through a wide range of elective and vocational courses, including office automation, web technologies, and .NET programming. The BCA course lays a solid foundation for careers in IT, software development, data analysis, and business management, as well as for higher studies in computer applications and commerce.
It also fosters a mindset of continuous learning, ensuring graduates stay current with evolving technology and industry trends.
Duration: Three or Four years / 6 or 8 Semesters with multiple entry and exit.
The following option will be made available to the students joining BCA Research Program:
1. Three years: Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
On successful completion of 3 years of study, student can exit the program with BCA degree
2. Four years: BCA (Honours) or BCA (Honours with Research)
On successful completion of 3 years of study, student can pursue the 4th year for award of BCA(Hons) degree.

Eligibility
1. CET as a qualifying examination.
2. Admission to the First Year of the BCA Degree Program (2024 Pattern) is contingent upon passing the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Maharashtra State Board or an equivalent examination from a recognized university, with English as a mandatory course.
3. Admission to the Third Semester Examination of the Second Year requires satisfactory completion of the first two semesters at a college affiliated with this University.
4. To qualify for admission to the Third Year BCA(Fifth Semester) Degree Program (2024 Pattern), students must have cleared all papers from the First and Second Semester Examinations of FYBCA.
5. Admission to the Fifth Semester Examination of the Third Year necessitates satisfactory completion of the first two semesters of the Second Year program at a college affiliated with this University.
6. To be eligible for admission to the Fourth Year BCA (Seventh Semester) Degree Program (2024 Pattern), students must have cleared all papers from the Third and Fourth Semester Examinations of SYBCA
7. Students who secure 75% marks and above in the first six semesters and wish to undertake research at the undergraduate level can choose a research stream in the fourth year. On successful completion, the student will be awarded BCA (Honours with Research)
8. Re -entry Criteria: Student who have exited after 3 years can re -enter the 4th year of the BCA programme within 3 year.
