About the Course

M. Sc. Statistics program is of minimum 80 credits spread over four semesters. The program emphasizes both theory and applications of statistics and is structured to provide knowledge and skills in depth necessary for the employability of students in industry, other organizations, as well as in academics. Accordingly, the program has important features such as individual/ group projects, elective courses and courses on standard software packages such as MATLAB, MINITAB, SYSTAT, SPSS , R. Syllabus of the first two semesters covers core courses. The second-year syllabus contains both core, elective and open courses. It is possible for the students to study basic courses from other disciplines such as economics, life sciences, computer science, mathematics in place of electives.
