SPARK Annual Exhibition

Every year, Suryadatta Institute of Fashion Technology (SIFT) organizes an annual exhibition : SPARK showcasing products prepared by its Fashion Design students on any one particular theme.

Suryadatta Institute of Fashion Technology aims at imparting knowledge and practical exposure in the key areas of Fashion in their curriculum of 3 years. Students of SIFT arrange an exhibit of innovative and creative products developed under a theme. The approach behind the exhibition is to enlighten the path for others to follow. Through this exhibition the students are given an equal opportunity to represent their talent and creativity in front of others. The fashion design students their creative minds exhibit their learning journey with all of us.

This year, to commemorate, 75 years Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the students have organized a unique exhibition of 2100 different handcrafted articles and merchandise made by our students with the use of Khadi fabric through its : 11th Spark 2023'

This unique exhibition, probably first time in India, focuses on the creative use of eco-friendly natural fabric, Khadi and also is the source of inspiration to achieve the dream of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Suryadatta consistently takes effort to imbibe the sense of patriotism in the students by arranging such events that not only brings patriotic spirit in the students but also moulds them to be future entrepreneurs, thereby creating employment under suryadatta start-up venture and contributing to the Nation to make it Self – Reliant.

If we have Khadi spirit in us, then we should surround ourselves with simplicity in every walk of life. right from this simplicity mantra of Father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi ji to your Excellency’s Mantra & Khadi for nation, Khadi for fashion, we at Suryadatta make our students understand the significance of the Khadi.

The Khadi spirit inculcates patience, faith and Fellow- feeling for other Human beings. Also, by living a day of a weaver, the students get to understand the hard work toil of the weavers. In an effort to make Khadi – a symbol of National Pride Fashion Statement, our students pursuing Fashion Design course of 18 -20 years of age and coming from rural and tribal area are working enthusiastically making every possible product from the national symbolic fabric such as bags, accessories, clothing and many other lifestyle products.

A total of 2100 such products are prepared by students themselves. This unique exhibition, probably first time in India, focuses on the creative use of eco-friendly natural fabric, Khadi and also is the source of inspiration to achieve the dream of Atmanirbhar Bharat. This is our 2 nd exhibition of products made using Khadi fabric. Suryadatta consistently takes effort to imbibe the sense of patriotism in the students by arranging such events that not only brings patriotic spirit in the students but also moulds them to be future entrepreneurs, thereby creating employment and contributing to the Nation to make it Self – Reliant.

This unique concept of making 2100 khadi products is endorsed by few Books of world records and few others are in the pipeline. We feel privileged to promote the Pride of Nation - Khadi fabric through the ‘11th Spark 2023’, which will be inaugurated by renowned personalities from Social, Fashion & political background.

The exhibition is open to all from 24th to 26th March 2023 in between 10am to 6 pm at Suryadatta Group of Institute Bavdhan campus Pune.
