Students Applause & Achievements

Indira College of Commerce and Science hosted the State Level Intercollegiate Debate Competition on 21st March 2025, where students from various colleges across the city showcased their debating skills on the topic: “Changing Donald Trump’s International Policy: How Will India and the World Cope with It?” The competition saw overwhelming participation, with approximately 66 teams, each consisting of two members, engaging in thought-provoking debates.

The format of the event involved two teams in each debate: one supporting the motion and the other opposing it. All the debates were marked by intellectual depth and sharp arguments, offering fresh perspectives on the complexities of international relations and global diplomacy under Donald Trump’s leadership.

The competition was intense, but one participant stood out in particular. Ms. Mehicka Nair, a first-year BBA student from Suryadatta Institute of Management and Mass Communication (SIMMC), was awarded the first prize for her exceptional performance and brilliant articulation during the debate. Her insightful arguments and convincing rebuttals impressed the judges, earning her the top honor in this prestigious event.
